camel & needle

to the birds of the limb
get fooled (again)
threading it
will u run
thru the gates

some crap from the p.r. days:

ON HOLIDAY from such sturm und drang influences as RICHARD HELL and early RIDE or THE PALACE BROTHERS and berlin-era BOWIE, CRIX CRAX CRUX now reconciles extremes of over-heated practice amp pyrotechnics and cool casio-toned approximations w/ a foundation of rythyms assembed from perturbed synth-presets and streamlined live drum samples.  CRIX CRAX CRUX’s latest album, “camel & needle” is a spurious forcast for perfect weather, extending from the placid ebb-flow of neo-shoegazing ruminations on grandfathers and silver linings (“from the east,” “not at all”), to teeth-grinding steady downpours protesting eagles and commanders in chief (“to the birds of the limb,” get fooled (again)”), to gale-force instrumental dance tracks and cinematic drone-scapes (“threading it,” “thru the gates”) that reverberate dread and joy in equal measure and are over in a flash.  A flurry of taut post-punk, woozy lo-fi folk, and damaged pop, “camel & needle” attempts to soak you to the bone, but leave u feeling clean & refreshed.
